The Phoenix Shoulder Society Inc.
The purpose of The Phoenix Shoulder Society Inc. shall be to promote, encourage, foster and advance the art and science of shoulder and elbow surgery and matters related thereto, to establish a forum for free discussion and teaching of advanced surgical methods and principles among the members and to encourage research to advance the science of shoulder and elbow surgery
Membership in the SOCIETY is a privilege, not a right, which is accorded to a person who meets the qualifications of his/her class of membership.
Active Membership Qualifications
- Active Membership in the SOCIETY shall be open to qualified orthopedic surgeons who meet the following criteria. He/she must
- Be a physician with a near exclusive practice of shoulder and elbow orthopedic surgery
- Be certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Association;
- Have completed an orthopedic fellowship program in shoulder and elbow from University of Pennsylvania, The Rothman Institute of Thomas Jefferson University or the Cleveland Clinic Foundation
- Be an active faculty member at one of these 3 institutions in shoulder and elbow surgery
- Active members are eligible to vote, hold office, serve on committees, and sponsor candidates for membership.
- Active Members pay dues, fees and assessments.
- Conformity to these criteria in their entirety continues an Active Member in good standing
